'I Still Want Arsenal's No.10 Shirt'

Mesut Özil has again hinted at his want for Arsenal's No.10 shirt following Jack Wilshere's loan move to Bournemouth.

The German playmaker has worn the No.11 since arriving from Real Madrid for a club-record fee in 2013, with Wilshere handed No.10 when Robin van Persie left for Manchester United 12 months earlier.

"Since Wilshere’s departure last summer, the number is free, but I have yet to get it," he told Kicker.

Özil confirmed his interest in the currently vacant number last summer, telling The Daily Express after Wilshere's exit: "[The No.10] has become free and I definitely want it."
