Piqué has defended Barcelona colleague Andre Gomes, who was jeered by a section of the Camp Nou support in Sunday's win over Valencia.
"The people who whistle players before they've kicked a ball should stay at home," Piqué said after the La Liga clash on Sunday evening.
"It doesn't help anyone. It's intolerable," the 30-year-old continued. "It's one thing a player having a bad game and the fans complaining, but it's quite another doing so before he's kicked a ball."
"That pushes his confidence through the floor," Piqué concluded. Gomes went on to score the fourth goal in a 4-2 win for his side,to stay in touch with league leaders Real Madrid.
