FT | It’s all over here in Belgium and Jeremy Perbet’s second half goal ensures Gent will take a slender 1-0 advantage into the second leg at Wembley.
'85 | Close! Davies makes a surging run towards the Gent penalty area and lays the ball into the path of Alli before continuing his run into the box. Alli looks to play a return pass to the Welshman but instead picks out Son in a good position, but Dejaegere does exceptionally well to stick out a toe and knock the ball away from the forward as he looks to shoot on goal.
'75 | What a save from Lloris! Milicevic looks certain to score as he shoots towards the bottom corner from just inside the Spurs penalty box, but Lloris springs brilliantly low to his left and palms the ball onto the post!
'66 | Lovely build up play from Simon in midfield as he spreads the ball wide to Saief who swings in a wonderful cross towards the back post, but Davies just gets his head to the ball to deflect it out for a throw-in. That goal does appear to have given Gent renewed confidence though.
'59 | GOAL! | KAA Gent – Spurs 1-0. Perbet! Perbet gives Gent the lead!! Milicevic gets in behind the Spurs defence down the left-hand edge of the penalty box before pulling the ball back towards Perbet, and while his initial effort was smothered by the sliding Davies, the striker kept his cool to slot home at the second time of asking from six yards out.
'51 | Off the post! Alli breaks into the Gent area after good work from Walker and Winks down the right, and although the midfielder appears to be tripped, the ball breaks to Kane to shoots on the turn from six yards out but can only turn his effort onto the outside of the post! That’s the closest we’ve had to a goal so far.
'46 | We are back underway in the second half!
HT | It’s a pretty cagey affair here in Belgium with neither side having offered too much threat going forward. Gent have looked the more threatening of the two sides but Lloris hasn’t had too many saves to make, while Spurs have been confined to a few long-range efforts. The home crowd appeared to be pretty pleased with their side’s display though as the players made their way into the tunnel, and Hein Vanhaezebrouck will certainly be asking for more of the same from his side from a defensive point of view in the second period.
'39 | Milicevic whips in a low corner towards the near post where Dejaegere looks to shoot, but Alli just nicks in ahead of him to clear the ball, resulting in the Gent midfielder catching Alli with his follow through.
'33 | A half-chance for Spurs now as Dembele skips away from Esiti with ease before driving towards the by-line and picking out Alli with a low pulled-back cross, but the midfielder’s shot from six yards out is well blocked by Gigot.
'25 | Spurs look to have an opportunity to break forwards as Victor Wanyama wins the ball well in midfield, but having played the pass into Dembele, the Belgian’s control lets him down and the opportunity passes.
'20 | Chance for Mitrovic! The Spurs defence are all appealing for offside but the flag stays down as Stefan Mitrovic brings the ball down on his chest 10 yards out from goal and hits a good first-time effort narrowly wide of the right-hand post.
'16 | Kane this time goes for goal from long range after patient build up play from the Tottenham striker. He catches the effort sweetly but it’s too close to Kalanic who catches it with relative ease above his head.
'11 | Close from Alli!! Dele Alli picks the ball up 25 yards out from goal and fires a low fizzing effort just wide of the left-hand post with Kalinic scrambling across his goal.
'6 | The home crowd are certainly making themselves heard in the early stages here as Lovre Kalinic comes out of his area to clear well as Harry Kane looks to break through on goal.
