FT | Stoke remain in the bottom three after City proved too good for them on the night. Guardiola's men were not at their best for the full 90 minutes but they showed why they look destined to be champions this season.
'90+4 | Stoke have done well to keep this at two-nil after a tough 10 minutes or so but they will need to take the positives and move on as they look to stay in the Premier League.
'89 | Crouch's introduction has given Stoke a lift up front but they have been unable to play off him and create enough chances. Time is running out and they remain two-nil down.
'84 | There's plenty of confusion as Stoke take a drop ball but Sterling wins possession and rounds Butland but he is tackled by N'Diaye just as he was about to score. Sterling is left a little embarrassed but Stoke are adamant that they should have been given a free-kick.
'79 | Allen goes into the book after a foul in back play while Walker tried to score. We have a little break in play as Stafylidis and Otamendi receive some treatment after clashing in the box.
'74 | Walker wastes a brilliant chance after another quick breakaway. De Bruyne opens up the play and gives Walker a great chance to score but the right-back rushes his shot and fires into the stands.
'69 | Martins Indi is left with his head in his hands after blasting his shot over the bar. From the free-kick, Crouch headed back across goal for Choupo-Moting but his cutback was blazed over by the defender.
'64 | Sane has had a quiet night so far but he nearly makes a name for himself with a curling effort. The Germany international tried his best to find the corner but a goal-kick is given.
'59 | This is now starting to open up and Sterling nearly waltzes through the Stoke defence. He was too quick for the first two defenders but the home side eventually rallied to clear their lines.
'54 | Lambert's team-talk is not out of the window but the Potters need to consider their goal difference. As much as they will not want to give up, conceding three or four could damage their survival chances in the weeks to come.
'49 | GOAL! Stoke City - Man City 0-2. Silva! City carve open the Stoke defence and it is 2-0. The league-leaders make it look so easy but Silva did brilliantly well to float the ball over Butland and into the net after a fine team move.
HT | David Silva's strike is the difference at half-time but Stoke have not been outclassed so far. While they need to create more, Lambert's men are still in the contest going into the second 45 minutes.
'45 | David Silva finds space to turn in the box and he lays the ball into Fernandinho but the midfielder's right-footed shot is palmed away by Butland. Shaqiri showing signs of frustration as the first-half comes to a close, Lambert will need to calm him down at the interval.
'40 | City are now building from the back but the home crowd are booing and trying to unsettle them. Stoke need to hold on until half-time but Lambert will have seen some positives from the first 40 minutes.
'35 | Butland's long ball flies over the head of Kompany and Jese nearly breaks away. Walker cuts across to clear but in doing so he nearly lobs Ederson but the keeper makes a save to keep it 1-0!
'30 | De Bruyne nearly latches onto a sloppy pass from Martins Indi but Butland saves the day as he slides in to clear the danger. Jack Butland tries a through ball, but Xherdan Shaqiri is caught offside.
'25 | A poor clearance from Bauer allows Fernandinho to have a shot from the edge of the box but the midfielder slices his shot into the stands. Stoke are slowly coming back into the game without creating too much, but City are not enjoying all of the possession for a change.
'20 | Boos ring around the stadium as Sterling goes down on the edge of the box after he and Stafylidis collide but the appeals are turned away. N'Diaye sees his shot deflect just past the far post for a corner but that was all down to Shaqiri's superb run. The Swiss ace was able to glide into the box and cut the ball back but City scrambled to avoid conceding.
'15 | Stoke have reacted well to going behind and they have returned to their defensive shape straight away. The Citizens have dominated the possession stats but Lambert would have expected that and his troops will need to be clinical on the counter. With Jese, Shaqiri and Choup-Moting up front, it appears that Stoke are going try and play in behind the City defence if they get the chance.
'10 | GOAL! Stoke City - Man City 0-1. Silva! Stoke's positive start is shattered as the league-leaders burst forward and David Silva is on hand to tap home a cross from the right wing.
'5 | Stoke have started with plenty of purpose and are trying to pile the pressure on City from the off. City break down the right and Sterling gets the chance to cross but he gives away a foul when trying to break into the box.
